Exercise Testing

Shuttle Walk Test
Kirill Shumilov

Does anyone perform the shuttle Walk Test in their cardiac rehab? There are multiple cardiac rehab programs in my healthcare system that don't perform an initial assessment like a 6MWT. Common reasons include lack of space and not seeing the value in performing an assessment. As a result, I've been tasked with providing alternative assessments that don't require a lot of space and I want to present the shuttle Walk test as an option. Since the shuttle Walk test is a beep test I need to find the right cadence and I can't seem to find a good recording or download of the beep test. Apparently there are CDs that other programs use or MP3 downloads but I can't seem to find them.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Hi Kirill,

If you are refering to the Incremental Shuttle Walk Test (ISWT), here is what I found: The ISWT is available from Prof Sally Singh, Department of Respiratory Medicine, Glenfield Hospital NHS Trust, Groby Road, Leicester LE3 9QP, UK or email: visit University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust for further information on how to access.
