Become an FCEPA
Fellowship in the CEPA recognizes recipients for their outstanding service to the field of clinical exercise physiology and their professional achievements. Earning Fellow status should not be considered a final step in your career, but rather an acknowledgement of your commitment to, and excellence in the profession. And hopefully it will motivate the recipient to continue to be involved in CEPA.
Fellowship Criteria
- CEPA member (Professional or Associate) in good standing for 3+ consecutive years at the time of application
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in exercise physiology or equivalent
- Currently certified by ACSM as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP)
- Attended at least 1 CEPA conference in the last 3 years OR attended 6 CEPA webinars in last 3 years
- History of contribution to the field as shown by having at least 100 points on the Service Calculator worksheet with at least 20 points in the Service to CEPA section
- Note: CEPA members can review their history of participation in CEPA webinars/conferences in their member profile.
*Individuals who have demonstrated a long history of exemplary service to CEPA and the profession of clinical exercise physiology and
do not hold the ACSM-CEP certification may be considered for advancement to Fellow status at the discretion of the CEPA Fellowship Committee.
Application Due Dates
- Fellowship applications are accepted continuously with FCEPA classes announced every 4 months (February, June, October).
- Applications due dates are March 31, July 31, November 30
- Each application will be reviewed by the CEPA Fellowship Committee.
- Meeting the minimal benchmarks for Fellowship does not guarantee advancement but ensures one’s application will be evaluated by the committee
How to Apply

- Provide a curriculum vitae or resume' in English
- Provide Statement (in English) describing candidacy, service to CEPA and the field of clinical exercise physiology, and future CEPA service plans
- Provide Name & contact information of 3 references the committee can contact. At least 2 should be distinguished CEPs, current or past CEPA Executive Committee members, CEPA past or present committee chairs, CEPA Fellows, or another CEPA member who can speak to your CEPA service.
