The CEPA conducts a survey of clinical exercise physiologists every 5 years. The purpose of the survey is to collect data on employment, including salary, scope of work, patient populations, and job responsibilities among practicing clinical exercise physiologists (CEPs).

The purpose of the CEPA National Salary Survey is to raise awareness of CEPs' pay among students, practitioners, and professionals and to advocate and inform healthcare administrators and decision makers to enhance their understanding of the profession and promote pay equity among CEPs.
