Cheap and/or "easy" CECs

Jason, I'm in the same boat. Honestly racking up free/inexpensive CEs as frequently as I can but it is so time consuming this way. I have done a few ACSM-CEPA ones using my own money as well as the annual CEPA online conference. GGSI has free ones - you read an article and take a quiz - again, time consuming. Trying to get my work to help me out for this final CE push this last year and pay for the ACSM conference

Jason- Do you work for an academic hospital that trains physicians (eg, house officers, fellows)? If yes, then there are continuing education offerings at no cost. These might be directed to mid and upper level providers, but they are likely available to you. In my experience, ACSM accepts medical/nursing CMEs/CECs. If you don't work for an academic hospital, your hospital might have an affiliation with one. Considering asking your non-CEP co-workers if they access free continuing education opportunities.

Jason, if you are a member of ACSM and subscribe to the ACSM’s Health & Fitness J, there are online CECs available via monthly journal articles.

Also ACSM provides a listing of ACSM approved providers on their website and in the H&F J.

Also, consider other professional organizations like the NSCA (National Strength & Conditioning Association) who share approved CEC courses and workshops.

Jason, I assume you've seen the free CEU offering that CEPA is sponsoring 2 days from now (Jan 8)? And you're aware of the 2026 conference that is taking place February 7? As a member of CEPA, the conference credits amount to $9 each.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an efficient way to get CECs for recertification? I probably won't be able to go to any conferences this year, so online recommendations? I used exerciseetc.com last time and it cost a couple hundred dollars for all 60 CECs and was like 750 questions. Any others that people have done and liked? Lots of other sites I've seen were around $15+ per CEC. Exerciseetc.com was like $4 per CEC, just was a lot of questions.
